About Cercado De Lima
Cercado de Lima is a district of the province of Lima and part of the historical center of Lima. It has an arquitecture that reminds a lot of the viceroyalty because of the spanish style. It is known as "Cercado" because in the times it was founded there was a practice to call the central neighborhoods that way. Nowadays in Cercado de Lima you can find the most important public building: the Government Palace.
Things to do in Cercado De Lima
- Remember to visit the Parque de la Exposición during your stay in Cercado de Lima. The entrance is free, however there can be some events inside the parque that require you to pay. If you are travelling with your sons, they can enjoy of many games here.
- For those who are lovers of history, we recommend you to visit the "Museo de la Santa Inquisición y el Congreso". It is one of the most popular museums in Lima because it shows the different punishments and tortures that were made against the people who supposedly commited a religious crime.
The museum is open every day of the week from 9 am to 5 pm and the entrance is free. We advised you to go early because it is always crowded.

If you want to visit Cercado de Lima, we advised you to go from November to March. This months are known for being hot because is summer, so you can walk accompanied with a warm sun.
