About Huanuco
Huánuco is a city located in the departament of the same name. The spanish commander Gómez de Alvarado y Contreras founded it in 1539 under the name of "The very name and loyal city of the Knights of the Lion of Huánuco" and it was a very important geographic point during the war between Perú and Chile. Huánuco attracts a lot of tourists because of it special geography that includes valleys, jungle, mountain ranges and snow. The economy of Huánuco is based manly by agricultural and mining activity.
